Welcome to ICAA!

Welcome to ICAA, one of the oldest non-governmental organisations active in the field of dependenies. Having celebrated  its 100th anniversary in 2007, ICAA continues to be dedicated to prevent and reduce the harmful use and effects of alcohol, tobacco, other drugs and addictive behaviours on individuals, families, communities and society.

Through a range of acitivites at international, regional and local levels and services provided to its membership and the interested public at large, ICAA sensitises, empowers and educates organisations and individuals in the interest of public health, personal and social well being. 

ICAA believes in the exchange of evidence-based knowledge and innovative approaches. It is committed to undertake this in an independant, apolitical, inclusive and transparent manner.

New Dates for "ICAA Cancún 2010"
ICAA's 53rd International Conference on Dependencies will now take place from 2nd to 6th November 2010. Thus date conflicts with other meetings in North America will be avoided.

Welcome "ICAA Cancún 2010"

For the first time in 115 years of international conferences, ICAA welcomes you to Mexico! The beautiful city of Cancún, situated in the federal state of Quintana Roo on the Caribbean coast in the south- east of the fifth largest country of the Americas will see the 53rd International ICAA Conference on Dependencies from 2nd to 6th November 2010. The conference will be co-hosted by Centros de Integración Juvenil, A.C. (CIJ), the largest Mexican NGO active in the area of prevention, treatment and research of addictions.

Good Bye "ICAA Estoril 2009"

More than 300 participants from over 50 different countries and from all continents gathered in Estoril, Portugal, from 11 to 16 October 2009 at the 52nd International ICAA Conference on Dependencies, co-hosted by ICAA and the National Institute on Drugs and Drug Addiction (IDT).
